The London Mithraeum
Two thousand years ago in London a Roman built a temple to Mithras on the banks of the river Walbrook. This year a beautiful new museum about this temple has just opened at the new Bloomberg building.
Situated on three floors at 12 Walbrook this museum cleverly uses lights and mist to recreate the pillars and dark subterreanean nature of building.
The cult of Mithras appears to have been exclusively for men only and always included the scene of Mithras killing a bull on the altar.
