The rebellion

Still falling.. still falling it seems like forever
Still falling.. still falling the blacker the better
It’s dangerous and dark so you’ll never say never
A place of no return, the grimmer the better

But sometimes a ray, a teeny-tiny ray of light

From beyond the horizon or just out of the line of sight

Appears as if from nowhere

Like a sentinel, like one of those batman signs

And pushes back on those encroaching shadows

Crying ‘No! You cannot take us without a fight!’

Willing us all to be stronger and better

Imploring us to do what’s right

Oh we have done well, far better than we could have dreamt

But we’ve borrowed from the future and now we are in contempt

For now we must pay our debts with interest

If not now then when? And how?

So teeny-tiny light keep strong inside our hearts

Push back on black

It’s time for change 

For today is when we must start
