Rendered Free
At every dawn and every dimming
They demand us to come to the fray
Commands bestowed by angels
Explained by those that obey
Logic that knows no reason
Rules that know of no truth
Stories passed down through the ages
By those that knew of no youth
Oh Charlie, he knew not what drove me
To have those thoughts that I did
Too wrapped up in his own world
To bother for the trials of a kid
Who cares for an idiot sibling
Lost in his own rule space
Survival by personal protection
Renewal by poisoned embrace
And on so it must continue
No pause until we’re complete
Respect crushed by detachment
Now broken and obsolete
Close your ears so you can’t listen
And your eyes so you’re unable to see
And oblivious to each of my jailers
I find that I’m rendered free.
