The Aiguille de Midi

The Aiguille de Midi is an incredible double cable car ride from Chamonix.  It is over 3800m high and the views are fabulous!

The top of the Aiguille is a very distinctive 'chimney'.

There are two main platforms on the Aiguille de Midi;  one at the Cable car terminal level which has a view of the Chimney; and a higher platform at the Chimney level with views over the whole Chamonix valley, the Vallee Blanche, and Mont Blanc itself!

The cable car ride to get there is an experience all by itself!

On a clear day the views over the Chamonix valley are unbelievable.

It takes two cable cars to reach the Aiguille de Midi.  The interchange point between the two is called the Plan de l'Aiguille.  At 2317m high this is still high and the views are still great!
